What is Bandwidth Management?
Bandwidth Management device/software empowers you to control Network traffic passing through it. It is installed as an intermediate device between serving and receiving end of networks. Bandwidth manager allows administrator to set priority for important traffic. Bandwidth can be restricted, increased or decreased on the fly for any IP address or user.

Why Manage Bandwidth?
Any unmanaged resource is always underutilized. You must know what you are getting from your ISP. You must know which user or service is consuming how much bandwidth. At the end you must have the flexibility or power to manage this expensive resource as per your policies.

What is Transparent Border Caching?
Transparent Border caching server saves more then 30% available Internet Bandwidth by caching frequently used static Internet objects in RAM or hard-disk. Transparent means you do not need to modify any Internet Browser settings on workstations to enable this thus making deployment easy.

What is DNS Caching?
DNS service is required to resolve website names to IP addresses and IP addresses to names. Very less Internet Bandwidth is required to perform this operation but response needs to be fast as all services like browsing, mailing depend on DNS service for resolving names. Generally we specify ISP's DNS servers in network configuration of workstations and response time is generally in few milliseconds (4 to 100). If you run a caching DNS server at your site, this can be reduced to few nano seconds, thereby enhancing overall Internet performance.
